It is almost time for a new season of Ultimate Team to commence, and that could mean the start of the FC 24 Ones to Watch promo. Despite EA’s split from FIFA, the game will have all the modes we’ve grown accustomed to over the years, including Ultimate Team. Fingers crossed this includes all of our favourite promo events too!

The transfer window is still open, so there will be plenty more summer signings before we reach the EA Sports FC 24 release date. Stay on top of all the latest news for the FC 24 Ones to Watch promo right here, and check out our player predictions below.

FC 24 Ones to Watch release date

Expected as the first promo of the FC 24 Ultimate Team campaign, we should see the EA Sports FC 24 Ones to Watch release date launch at the same time as the worldwide release, on September 29.

This looks increasingly likely should the event take place as an exclusive Nike event should run in the week-long early access period. Players who pre-order the Ultimate Edition of FC 24 will have access to the event, and therefore get a head start in assembling their Ultimate Team.

The Ones to Watch promo usually lasts for two weeks but was reduced to one in FUT 23 due to the hectic schedule caused by a winter World Cup. We will wait to see what EA announces for the FC 24 OTW campaign.

FC 24 OTW

As the biggest game mode that EA Sports FC 24 will have to offer, the Ultimate Team season has to start with a bang! Over the years the first promo to get things underway has been Ones to Watch, celebrating some of the biggest transfers to happen over the summer.

We don’t see things changing in FC 24, as it is an event that the community loves and grants cards that can stay relevant throughout the season. This is because OTW cards are live items, which increase in rating throughout the campaign.

In FUT 23, there were three ways that a Ones to Watch player could be upgraded:

  • Anytime the player gains a qualifying performance-based item (Team of the Week, Man of the Match)
  • Wins to Watch: A one-time upgrade if their team won three out of eight selected domestic league matches
  • Nations to Watch: A one-time upgrade if their national team won any game at the World Cup

Obviously, there is no World Cup this year, however, leaks have suggested that EA Sports have struck a deal with UEFA to include Euro 2024 in the game, possibly with a DLC. Massive tournaments are celebrated in Ultimate Team, so it would be no surprise to see the Nations to Watch mechanic included once again for teams competing in the Euros and the Copa America.

FC 24 OTW Predictions

There have been plenty of moves already conducted over the summer transfer window, but perhaps the biggest of them all was Jude Bellingham switching Borussia Dortmund for Real Madrid. It is all but certain that the young Englishman will feature as a Ones to Watch item, and he will probably be one of the most sought-after cards on the market too.

Of course, players swapping European clubs to head to the Saudi Pro League has been a prominent event this summer, but we don’t expect to see many feature as OTW cards. Karim Benzema is the most likely as the most high-profile player to make the move, but otherwise, FUT players won’t be building sides with prominent Saudi Pro League links.

Then there is Lionel Messi. No one thought that the Argentine would ever leave Barcelona, so when he gained a OTW after joining PSG it was seen as a rarity. He could gain another Ones to Watch this year, swapping Paris for Inter Miami!

FC 24 OTW Leaks

So far, we haven’t spotted any leaks for who will gain a Ones to Watch item in FC 24. However, if the past couple of years are anything to go by, we won’t have to wait long until the leaks start flooding in.
