There are plenty of items in Dragon’s Dogma 2 for you to track down, including the elusive Fruit Wine, which you only have a chance to get courtesy of Captain Brant and Raghnall. Raising Brant’s affinity will help you get this rare liquid as will a daring fight. Play it right and you can then combine it with Saurian Tail to craft one of the Newt Liqueur needed to unlock the Warfarer vocation.

How to get Fruit Wine from Captain Brant in Dragon’s Dogma 2
For the first method of getting Fruit Wine, you need to complete Captain Brant’s quests in Vernworth along with the A Place to Call Home quest where you purchase a home. After completing these, the captain will gift you a bottle of this fine wine. To wrap up Captain Brant’s questline in Vernworth, you’ll need to finish Monster Culling, The Caged Magistrate, Disa’s Plot, and The Stolen Throne quests.
A Place to Call Home is available almost as soon as you reach Vernworth for the first time. To complete it, you simply need to accept Mildred’s offer to stay in her house and play (or rest) until 7 days have passed. She’ll need to offer to sell the house to you for 20,000 gold. It’s a sizable sum but by this point, it shouldn’t be too hard to amass.
After purchasing the house, chat with Brant and, as long as your affinity with the captain is high enough, he’ll deliver the Fruit Wine to the sack hanging to the right of the front door to your house.
There is also a chance that you can get Fruit Wine from other individuals whom you give gifts to. You should make it a point to raise the affinity of anyone you can around Vernworth as they will all leave gifts at your home. This will allow you to get more items later in the game as well.
How to get Fruit Wine from Raghnall in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The second method of obtaining this liquid is in Bakbattahl – the main city of the Battahl region. Once you reach this city, go to the southern part of the mercantile ward to the bar known as the Wanderer’s Haven. During your first visit, you will get threatened by the locals and forced to fight in a one-on-one battle.
After the fight, Raghnall will tell you how he admires your courage and tenacity before gifting you a bottle of Fruit Wine. This will allow you to craft a second bottle of Newt Liqueur provided you got the one from Captain Brant earlier in the game.
How to get Newt Liqueur in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To get Newt Liqueur, you’ll need to combine Fruit Wine and Saurian Tail, find it out in the world, or purchase it from vendors. You’ll need three Newt Liqueurs to complete the Warfarer Maister’s quest called the Sotted Sage. There are four that you can get in the game.
The first is obtained by combining the Fruit Wine gifted by Brant with a Saurian Tail. The second is found in the Forbidden Magick Laboratory in Bakbattahl. The third is purchased from Higgs’ Tavern Stand in Bakbattahl for 5,000 gold. Earland sells the fourth for 2,000 gold at the Flamebearer Palace.
