There are multiple vocations to learn in Dragon’s Dogma 2 such as the Mystic Spearhand, Trickster, and our focus here, the Warfarer, a jack-of-all trades vocation that harnesses the power of two weapons at once. But unlike the starter classes, this one is earned with time and effort.

We’ll explain how to unlock the Warfarer vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which involves getting the Warfarer Maister’s approval as we did during our playthrough of the quest.

Where to find the Warfarer Maister in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To find the Warfarer Maister, make your way to the southern part of Battahl. It’s easiest to start from Bakbattahl. If you have one, place a Portcrystal here because you will need to return to this location. Follow the path to Drabnir’s Grotto and cross over to Agamen Volcanic Island. Once there, continue along the road to the Hot Spring in the Volcanic Island Camp.

When you reach the camp, look for Lamond near the hot spring. He’ss the man covered in tattoos near the entrance to the hot spring. Down on his luck, Lamond will ask you to fetch him three bottles of Newt Liqueur and also give you The Sotted Sage quest.

How to gain the Warfarer Maister’s approval in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To gain Lamond’s approval, you need to complete The Sotted Sage quest. This is similar to other vocation Maisters, with each one offering up a quest to complete to unlock a vocation. Warfarer is a unique vocation because you unlock the class and the mastery at the same time.

To complete the quest, you must bring Lamond three bottles of Newt Liqueur. These can be obtained in the following ways. First, it can be crafted from Fruit Wine and Saurian Tail. Second, you can purchase one from Higg’s Tavern Stand in Bakbattahl while wearing the Beastren Mask. If you haven’t purchased the mask, you can get it from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop in the Checkpoint Rest Town. Third, you can find a bottle of Newt Liqueur in the Forbidden Library. The Fourth is sold by Earland in the Flamebearer Palace.

✓ Tip

You only need three Newt Liqueur

You don’t need to get all of the Newt Liqueur for Lamond. He only requires three bottles to satiate his thirst. Once you’ve given him three, he’ll give you both the vocation and skill.

Bring the wine to Lamond and he will give you the Warfarer vocation in exchange. Keep talking to him though because doing so will get you the Grandmaster’s Path skill scroll which is the class’ ultimate skill.

This class is one of the best in combat and can wield a variety of weapons. Any Arisen should give it a try.
