So you’d like to know whether your MW2 progress will carry over to MW3? You’ve come to the right place. Modern Warfare 3 is the latest addition to Activision’s rebooted Modern Warfare series. And just like with each annual Call of Duty release, players always want to know if their progress and items will be carried over to MW3 when it launches next week. 

During the recent MW3 beta, Activision allowed players to level up and even own certain items like operators. However, it was confirmed that the beta progress would not carry over to the game’s full release. But it could be the other way around for MW2 players. Does MW2 progress carry over to MW3? 

Yes, your progress Modern Warfare 2 progress will carry over to Modern Warfare 3 when the game launches on November 10 despite reports of players losing their progress. Apart from your overall gameplay progress, below is the list of MW2 unlocked items that will carry over to MW3:

  • Weapons
  • Operators and operator skins
  • Blueprints
  • Camos for MW2 weapons
  • Weapon Charms
  • Stickers
  • Emblems
  • Loading Screens
  • Double XP Tokens
  • Certain Vehicle skins & Wartracks
  • Weapon progression
  • Attachments

If a specific content, such as a tactical vehicle, particular lethal equipment, or Wartracks, is missing in Modern Warfare 3, the items unlocked in MW2 won’t be carried over. This is because these items are not part of MW3’s content ecosystem.
