Having trouble and need help fixing the Drums of the Vault error in Diablo 4? The Season 3 quest has been bugged for players trying to get through all the new seasonal content.

With Season 3 kicking off for Diablo 4, there are bound to be some errors with the new content. Be sure to check out how to fix the ‘unable to find valid license’ error if you’re being plagued with other issues. But, sometimes the errors occur in the game while completing quests and finishing the Season 3 Journey. If you’re having trouble with the Drums of the Vault error, we’re here to show you how to fix it.

How to solve the Drums of the Vault quest error

When completing the Drums of the Vault quest, many players are running into an error that doesn’t allow them to interact with the Brazier in the Gatehall to upgrade their Seneschal Companion. To fix this, here is what you can try:

  • Leave and reenter the game
  • Enable or disable crossplay
  • Restart your game

Leave and reenter the game

A quick fix is to simply exit your game to the character selection menu, and jump back in. Open your settings while in-game and choose Leave Game. Then, you can enter back into the same character you were just on.

Sometimes the game just needs a little reloading to get it to fix this glitch. When I encountered this bug, I tried this first and it worked immediately.

Enable or disable crossplay

If you’ve exited and entered the game already and found it didn’t work, head into your settings at the character selection screen and check or uncheck the box to enable crossplay. It doesn’t matter if you already have crossplay enabled or not, just check the box to change it to whatever you don’t have.

The error can be coming from local co-op issues, and many have found that enabling or disabling their crossplay has fixed the problem for them and allowed them to interact with the Brazier in the Gatehall.

Restart the game

Finally, if the other solutions haven’t worked, try closing out your game entirely and restarting. This will allow a hard reset and potentially fix the glitch in Drums of the Vault.

Turn it off and turn it back on

One of the most tried and true methods of fixing Diablo 4 errors is restarting the game. This can fix most glitches and bugs, from not being able to log in to quests being bugged. This should be your first method when trying to solve any error in the game.

Luckily, Blizzard has noticed the issue and is working on a fix for this. Community Manager Adam Fletcher, or PezRadar has posted to the official Diablo forums that a fix is coming for the bug.

In the post, it’s stated that the dev team is aware of the issue with the Drums of the Vault bug on the local co-op and is planning to have a fix for it later this week.
