Need to have the Blood Harvest event in Diablo 4 explained? This new world event found in the Season of Blood can be a daunting challenge to take on if you don’t know what it is.

There’s tons of new content to be found in Season 2 of Diablo 4, from the new Diablo 2 Season 2 endgame bosses to the new Diablo 4 vampiric powers to play with. The Blood Harvest is just one way to take advantage of all the new content to be found. What is a Blood Harvest? We’re here to let you know.

What is a Blood Harvest in Diablo 4?

A Blood Harvest is a world event that affects certain areas of the map and increases the amount of monsters in the region. While they’re a new type of content, it’s similar to the Helltides from the endgame. There are activities to complete within the area, including:

Blood Lure Pedestalsuse Blood Lures to summon waves of enemies, which are then followed by the three bosses, Tidao of the Ancients, Xereph of the Ancients, and Onore of the Ancients
Sanguine Altaruse Blood Lures to summon Blood Seekers which carry Potent Blood and other seasonal materials
Rescue Villagerssave villagers from the cages they’re in and the hordes of monsters that captured them

While all of these events are great for earning loot and XP, I’ve found that the Blood Lure Pedestals get you the best rewards. However, you need 150 Blood Lures in total to activate it, so be sure to keep grinding for them and play with friends. Sanguine Altars only need 15 Blood Lures, so you can use them more often.

Other world events can also occur in the Blood Harvest, just like in the regular overworld. It will have a specific task for you to achieve, but instead of normal, it will occur in the Blood Harvest zone.

Where to find Blood Harvests in Diablo 4

You can always find a Blood Harvest on the map by finding the green icon, as well as from the entire zone being colored in green. Head to that area if you want to join the event.

Blood Harvests can happen in any region in Sanctuary, including Fractured Peaks, Dry Steppes, Hawezar, Kehjistan, and Scosglen.

While these events can be similar to Helltides, there are some differences between them. These include:

  • Blood Harvests are available at level 1
  • There is always a Blood Harvest active in Sanctuary
  • Any materials you’ve collected during the harvest stay in your inventory when the event ends

Luckily, you can jump into Blood Harvests as soon as you kick off the season. You won’t have to wait for them to appear, as there is always one happening on the map. Best of all, you won’t lose the special materials you’ve gathered once the event ends.

What materials do you get in Blood Harvests?

There are two special rewards to earn in Blood Harvests: Seeker Keys and Blood Lures. Seeker Keys are used to open special chests, the Seeker Caches found in the event zone. Blood Lures, as you’ve seen above, are used to summon enemies during the event.

Blood Harvests are also a great spot to pick up Potent Blood and Armor Pacts. You’ll need these for your Vampiric Powers, both to unlock new ones and upgrade your current ones. You’ll also be earning Hunter’s Acclaim each time you kill enemies in the zone, which can be exchanged for rewards.
