Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical survival horror game can be a challenging experience, regardless of whether you’re trying to escape as Survivors or sacrifice people as a Killer. Luckily, every character has their own upgrade tree to help improve their in-game capabilities. We’re going to explain what exactly the Bloodweb is and how it works, as well as how to Prestige Bloodwebs in Dead by Daylight so that you can get the most out of your investments.
How to Prestige a Bloodweb in Dead by Daylight
To Prestige a Bloodweb, you need to upgrade that particular Bloodweb to level 50. This is the maximum level that every character’s Bloodweb can reach. Once you get to it, you can then reset the Bloodweb back to level one, but doing so will also increase its Prestige level by one. This will be indicated by the new node at level one being a Prestige node.
Every time you want to increase the Prestige level again, you’ll need to level up to 50 and reset once more. You can do this up to a maximum of Prestige 100 per character’s Bloodweb. This process costs a massive amount of Bloodpoints to accomplish, so expect it to take a while.

Why should you Prestige a Bloodweb?
There are a few reasons you might choose to Prestige a Bloodweb, but the main one is the special rewards you can unlock. Every Prestige level can grant different things. You can unlock new Perk Slots, teachable Perks, add-ons, new items, character portraits and more. Many of these rewards have been reworked into the system that came out with patch 6.1.0.
Whenever we Prestige a character in DBD, we always look to unlock new Perk slots and abilities, or sought-after cosmetics like the Bloody Clothes for that character. As an example, here’s what you’ll get upon unlocking Prestige 1 on a Bloodweb:
- Higher tiers available for purchase at the Shrine of Secrets.
- Unlock this character’s Unique Perk for immediate use on all other characters, automatically equipping it in their inventories.
- Unlock the ability for Tier 2 and Tier 3 perks to spawn randomly on future Bloodwebs.
Then, here’s what Prestige 3 will offer:
- Automatically upgrade the character’s Unique Perk to Tier 3 for all characters.
And lastly, here’s an example for level 7 Prestige:
- Unlock the first Perk Charm for this character, further enhancing their capabilities.
It’s still an investment to raise a character’s Bloodweb Prestige, especially as you continue to increase Prestige levels. Be sure to choose a Survivor or get a Killer you’re sure you want to invest in or take a look at their Unique Perk, the Perk Charms they can unlock, and more to help you settle on the right decision.
How do Bloodwebs work in Dead by Daylight?
The Bloodweb is effectively your upgrade menu for a character. Every Survivor and Killer has their own set of possible nodes. Each Bloodweb is made up of various interconnected nodes, and every node offers something in particular that will improve the chosen character’s capabilities in some capacity.
Bloodwebs can include a variety of upgrades. Sometimes this will be an item or new equipment that improves a character’s ability to perform certain actions. Other times it may be an offering, which can be used for bonuses or rewards in matches. A node can also be an upgrade, perhaps improving a character’s speed, survivability, or damage output. From the centre of the web, players can click on nearby nodes, spending Bloodpoints to unlock them instantly.
Doing so will give you the perks of that node, and open the path on the Bloodweb to other nodes which may only be accessible via unlocking a prior one. Once you’ve unlocked all the nodes on the Bloodweb, it will level up. Higher levels of the Bloodweb may have more nodes and be more complex, thus you’ll need to spend a lot more Bloodpoints to progress. At each new level, a new set of nodes to unlock will become available. This occurs 50 times until the Bloodweb resets at a Prestige level-up.
An important thing to note, however, is that each Bloodweb level is procedurally generated, meaning that, within certain parameters, the perks, items and upgrades on the nodes will be random. You can unlock various different upgrades, such as through higher Prestige levels, which will improve your chances for rare and Ultra Rare abilities, upgrades, and items to appear on the Bloodweb.
Another important aspect when filling out Bloodwebs is the oncoming bloody tide. In essence, a dark blood splatter will begin to grow as you select new nodes. If it touches a node that you haven’t selected, it will cut it off and eliminate it from future options. When you see the tide approaching a node you want to get, look to plan ahead and go for it as fast as you can, so that it doesn’t become unpickable.
