New DBD Alan Wake survivor perks and how to play Chapter 30.5 PTB now

BeHaviour Interactive has confirmed another dream collaboration for their hit multiplayer horror game, Dead By Daylight. This year promises to be another fantastic 12 months for the community and it’s kicking off with a bang thanks to the arrival of Alan Wake as a new survivor. The DBD Alan Wake survivor perks and abilities have been revealed with Dead By Daylight fans able to play the Chapter 30.5 PTB right now.

The roadmap for Dead By Daylight 2024 has been revealed and it shows lots of exciting updates coming in the near future. For Chapter 30.5, we are getting some of these updates right away including quality-of-life improvements to the FOV slider as well as balance changes to killers The Onryo from Ringu and The Blight.

While quality-of-life improvements and killer updates are great, the most exciting aspect is of course the arrival of troubled writer, Alan Wake, as a survivor. He has a unique set of perks and fans on PC can play the Chapter 30.5 PTB before his official release date.

New DBD survivor Alan Wake perks

Below are all the new Dead By Daylight Alan Wake survivor perks for the DBD Chapter 30.5 PTB:

• Champion of LightWhile you are holding a flashlight, this perk activates. When you are shining a flashlight, you have 50% Haste. When you successfully blind the Killer, they also gain 20% Hindered for 6 seconds. This effect cannot stack with itself. Then, this perk goes on cool-down for 80/70/60 seconds.
•  Boon: IlluminationPress and hold the Ability button 1 near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft chimes ring out in a 24 meter range. Survivors inside your boon totem’s range see the aura of all chests and all generators in blue. If you have a lit boon totem, you cleanse or bless totems 6/8/10% faster. You can only bless one Totem at a time. All equipped boon perks are active on your Boon Totem.
•  DeadlineThis perk activates when you are injured. Skill Checks appear 6/8/10% more frequently when repairing or healing and appear in random places. The penalty for missing skill checks is reduced by 50%.

All of the above come courtesy of BeHaviour Interactive’s official 7.5.0 PTB patch notes. These are only his perks right now, they can always be tweaked for the full release later this month. How to play Dead By Daylight Chapter 30.5 PTB

You can play as the new DBD survivor Alan Wake during the Dead By Daylight Chapter 30.5 PTB if you are on Steam. Provided you play BeHaviour Interactive’s multiplayer horror game on Steam, simply follow the below steps:

• Right-click Dead By Daylight in your Steam library 
•  Select “Properties” 
•  Head into “Betas”, then select Public Test Build from the list 

DBD Alan Wake release date

The official release date for Dead By Daylight Chapter 30.5 and Alan Wake is January 30th. This is when he will become available for everyone to buy and play as on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. No price has been mentioned, but Remedy’s writer should cost 500 Auric Cells similar to when Nicolas Cage entered DBD on his own.

It features Ilkka Villi’s likeness from the Game Awards-winning sequel, while also featuring the iconic voice from vocals actor Matthew Porretta. He has a large number of original voice lines for the game and you will hear him scream as he runs away from monsters in a new dark place called The Fog.
