Wondering how to catch tuna in Dave the Diver? If you’re out scouring the Blue Hole for tuna, there’s a good chance you’ve received an email detailing the upcoming Tuna Yacht Party event. Hordes of punters are set to storm Bancho’s Sushi bar, hungry for tuna dishes. One or two tuna won’t cut it, so you’ve got your work cut out to feed the party.

Unlike most of the fish in Dave the Diver, tuna dart across the screen at speed, far faster than anything you’ve likely encountered so far. To make things more difficult, tuna also has a hefty health bar and take a big chunk out of Dave’s oxygen with each hit. Conventional weapons like the harpoon barely make a dent and tuna’s swimming speed means landing shots is tough. Here’s how to catch tuna in Dave the Diver. How to get tuna in Dave the Diver

The best and easiest way to catch tuna in Dave the Diver is to use Steel Net Sensor Traps. Set up the trap in the path of swimming tuna. When they get close, the net will deploy automatically, capturing one or two fish at a time. Swim Dave over to the net and hold the Q key to call in the Underwater Drone to lift the catch onto your boat. Using the drone guarantees three-star rating tuna and, by extension, more expensive dishes back at the sushi bar.

Once you unlock the Tuna Party Event, Cobra will give you a quick tutorial where you’ll catch you first tuna and hand over a Steel Net Sensor Trap. You’ll also unlock the drone at this point as well. After that, you can buy Steel Net bombs from Cobra’s Shop, but the issue here is that they aren’t always for sale, with the stock changing up daily. As for the tuna, they’ll spawn every time you dive from here onward and typically swim near the surface above 50 metres.

Other ways to catch tuna in Dave the Diver

If you’re out of luck and can’t get your hands on a sensor trap bomb or even an automatic net bomb, there are other ways to catch tuna in Dave the Diver. None are quite as efficient, though. The second best way to catch tune is to use either the Hush Dart or the Tranquilizer Mosin-Nagant Sniper Rifle. Both weapons have a 40% chance to put tuna to sleep for 9 seconds when hit, giving you a window to swim up and call in the drone.

Lastly, if all you have is a harpoon, then it’s a case of repeatedly hitting tuna until they die because harpoon shots don’t cause much damage. This takes time and should only be used when you have no other options available. Other than having to deal with the tuna’s speed and their high damage, the quality of the meat is degraded, usually producing one-star quality tuna, which means lower profits during the tuna event.
