Wondering how to catch a jellyfish in Dave the Diver? The harpoon and guns are solid tools for catching the majority of fish and creatures in the Blue Hole, but just won’t cut it when it comes to catching jellyfish such as the White Spotted Jellyfish, Comb Jelly, and Fried Egg Jellyfish. These bobbing, tentacled creatures that pack a nippy sting require a different approach if you plan on serving them up at Bancho’s Sushi bar.

We’ll walk you through how to catch a jellyfish in Dave the Diver. If you’re after ways to catch other creatures, read up on how to get a bug net in Dave the Diver, and how to catch a seahorse in Dave the Diver.

How to get a jellyfish in Dave the Diver

The easiest way to catch a jellyfish in Dave the Diver is to use either a Hush Dart gun or Tranquilizer Harpoon. Both weapons can be found in weapon chests throughout the Blue Hole. After you’ve found the Hush Dart twice, you’ll be able to craft it in the weapon shop and keep it permanently.

The benefit of using these weapons is that a single shot will stun the jellyfish after a short way (represented by three dots above the jellyfish), putting it to sleep for a short period of time and giving you enough time to swim up and catch it by tapping the spacebar, while also bagging a three star rating.

Another method is to use the Hush Dart or Tranquilizer Harpoon to stun the jellyfish then use a Small Net Gun or Net Bomb to capture it alive. Again, this gives you a three-star rating.

You can also catch a jellyfish by shooting it repeatedly with a normal gun or harpoon until it dies, then swim Dave over and harvest the carcass. You won’t be able to reel in a jellyfish with the harpoon as you would other fish. This method only gives you a one-star rating, which reduces the overall money you’ll get from serving the cooked jellyfish dish at the sushi restaurant so it isn’t recommended.

If you’re struggling to track down jellyfish, head to the Limestone cave where you’ll find White Spotted Jellyfish near the air vents. Otherwise, the Blue Hole Depths house a range of jellyfish, including the Comb Jelly.
