How to unlock the bug net in Dave the Diver
To get the bug net in Dave the Diver, complete the Reticent Girl mission, which involves cooking Kombu and White Trevally Ochazuke for Maki. Maki and the Reticent Girl mission unlocks towards the end of Chapter 2 Into the Deep after completing the chain of Duff’s Pink Delivery quests and defeating the Giant Squid boss.
After picking up the mission, jump to the research tab and research Kombu and White Trevally Ochazuke dish for six Artisan’s Flame. The ingredients required for the recipes are as follows. Note that they’ll all be marked by a light blue icon when you’re out diving to help you find them.
- White Trevally Fish x 3 – the fish is found in the Blue Hole Shallows between 50-130m.
- Kelp x1 – underwater vegetation found in the Blue Hole Shallows between 50-130m.
- Soy Sauce x1 – found in Cooking Pots throughout the Blue Hole or via employee Dispatch.
Once you’ve gathered all the ingredients, head back to Bancho’s restaurant and add Kombu and White Trevally Ochazuke to the menu for the evening. Open the restaurant for the night and serve up the dish to Maki to complete the Reticent Girl quest, at which point she’ll hand over the bug net.
You can test it out right away as Maki gives you a brand new quest called Catch Clione, which involves netting 5 Clione from the Blue Hole Depths. To catch a Clione, seahorse, shrimp, or other small creature using the bug net, approach it then tap the spacebar when the spacebar icon pops up
