You’ll need to unlock and use the bug net to catch a seahorse in Dave the Diver. The bug net becomes available after completing the Reticent Girl quest in Chapter 2 Into the Deep. To wrap up the quest, you’ll need to gather ingredients to serve Kombu and White Trevally Ochazuke to Maki at Bancho’s Sushi restaurant. Maki shows up at the sushi bar after completing Duff’s Pink Delivery quests and fighting the Giant Squid boss. Serving the dish to Maki triggers a cutscene, after which you’ll automatically get the bug net and have to use it to catch five clione.
Once you have the bug net, dive into the Blue Hole and track down a seahorse. Different species of seahorse spawn all over the Blue Hole, including near the surface and all the way down in the depths. To find one quickly, head to the colourful coral and vegetation not far from the surface. To catch a seahorse, position Dave over one and hold the spacebar when the spacebar icon appears on screen above Dave’s head. Dave will automatically pull out the bug net and catch the seahorse.
