You might be wondering if you can take your mask off in Payday 3 and unfortunately – we don’t have great news for you.
Our Payday 3 review lauds the game and series as a whole for it’s design of the irreversible mask-on moment. When the decision is made, the game crescendos into a chaos that is entirely fitting for a desperate heist game. However, you’re going to be wondering if you can do anything to revert back to the stealthy casing mode.
Can you remove your mask in Payday 3?
Unfortunately, once you make the decision to go loud in Payday 3, you’re not going to be able to remove your mask after this. This means it’s evermore important to have picked between either the best stealth build or the best assault build before you jump into a new heist.
Being unable to remove your mask means that if you kill one guard, you’re going to become a huge target for all other guards and a threat to civilians for the rest of the heist. This keeps the pressure up, and really makes you question the consequences of your actions. Surprising, really, for a title which gamifies larceny and murder.
How to put on your mask in Payday 3
You can put your mask on in Payday 3 pretty easily by holding down the G key on PC, or by pressing the relevant button on console. LB on Xbox, or L1 on PlayStation.
Just remember that once your mask is on, you’re not going to be able to take it off, so make sure your firearms are all locked and loaded.
We’re going to be keeping this page updated with news on whether or not you’re going to be able to put your mask on and off in Payday 3. Realistically, it’s very unlikely that the game will ever let you take it on and off, unless a DLC pack introduces a new mask or skill line tailored towards versatility. However, it’s not likely as when you mask up, your entire crew need to mask up too.
