Besides killing all enemies, mowing down zombies, or levelling up that latest weapon you unlock, you should set aside a bit of time for some flair. While emotes are the go-to for this, inspecting your weapon lets you marvel at your favourite camos and attachments. It doesn’t do anything in the game except give you a nice visual animation to check out your weapon from up close. Still, it’s always fun to do, so here’s how you can inspect your weapon in Black Ops 6.

How to inspect your weapon in Black Ops 6 on all platforms

You can inspect your weapon on any platform that you play BO6 on, but the process is slightly different between PC and console (PlayStation and Xbox). Here’s how to do it:

  • Keyboard: Press the inspect button keybind, which is by default mapped to I.
  • Controller: Hold Left on the D-pad. This opens the emote menu and Inspect is the default emote. Just release the button and you will trigger the inspect animation.
✓ Same for Playstation and xbox

While the two console controllers have their mapping differences, the emote/inspect button is the same between the two. In both instances, the Left button on the D-pad will open the emote wheel.

This marks the difference between mouse and keyboard and controller players, because PC players don’t have to go through the emote wheel to inspect their weapons. You can inspect any weapon that you hold in your hand, including your primary guns, secondaries, or melee weapons. Moreover, you can inspect your weapon before the game starts, during the match outro screen, or even during the match. However, we don’t advise doing that while the game is in progress – it can put you in a difficult spot while you’re admiring your gun. Well, unless you’re really flexing on your enemies. Speaking of which, you can still fire your gun to cancel the animation, so react fast to prevent getting caught.
