If the system requirements are anything to go by, Avowed is shaping up as a bit of a greedy collection of code and polygons. We’re not talking Cyberpunk 2077-grade demands on your hardware, but you’ll need a respectably-specced PC to get decent performance. If you already know that you’re in trouble, then cloud streaming the game might be your best option to experience Obsidian’s latest single-player RPG.
As cloud streaming services go, none is quite as well regarded as NVIDIA’s RTX GPU-powered GeForce NOW and we’re happy to report that Avowed will be available on the service. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the details around Avowed’s GFN launch.
When will Avowed be playable on GeForce NOW?
Avowed will be available to play on GeForce NOW on launch day, February 18, 2025. This applies whether you’ve bought the game on Steam, Battle.net, Xbox consoles, or are playing via Game Pass. NVIDIA confirmed as much in a news blast on its website on in early January.
From what we can gather, those that forked out for the Premium Edition and, therefore, get access to 5 day early access, they won’t be able to jump in until February 18 alongside the rest of us. This might very well change as we approach launch, but for now, best to err on the side of caution and avoid forking out for the Premium Edition if you’re not playing natively on your own machine.
If you haven’t yet set up an account on GeForce NOW, there are three tiers to choose from with each one offering a different experience, as follows:
Tier | Price | Benefits |
---|---|---|
Free | Ad-supported | – Longest queue times – 1-hour session lengths |
Performance | $9.99/£9.99 per month | – short queue times – 6-hour session lengths – 1440p QHD – RTX ON |
Ultimate | $19.99/£19.99 per month | – shortest queue times – 8-hour session lengths – DLSS 3 – NVIDIA Reflect – Cloud G-Sync – 4K HDR – 240 FPS – RTX ON |
In other words, if you’re PC isn’t up to the task of running Avowed, you can cloud stream it for the cost of a monthly subscription to Game Pass using GeForce NOW’s free tier. The marvels of technology, eh?
