If you’re reading this then you know what this is about. Prior to unlocking Yasuke, an exclamation mark would ping above your inventory, signalling some fresh gear to sift through. As soon as you’d checked the new items, the notification would disappear, a pleasant piece of digital housekeeping dealt with. It was also a useful reminder to check out any incoming items in case they were better than your currently equipped gear.

But, once Yasuke joins the party that notification becomes permanent and immovable even when you cycle through every single new weapon or piece of gear in both Naoe and Yasuke’s inventories. It just won’t disappear. It’s a minor annoyance, but does make keeping track of new gear difficult.

Is there a fix for the Assassin’s Creed inventory alert bug?

Unfortunately, as it stands, there’s no fix or workaround to make the alert disappear. However, it is a known bug that’s affected a huge swathe of players on all platforms – PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Though none of the recent post-launch patches have addressed the problem, it has been flagged on Ubisoft’s feedback and bug reporter portal

To move things along and signal to Ubi that players really want this one patched up as soon as possible, you can head over to the page and upvote it. Click on the ‘I encountered this’ button in the top right to do just that.

It’s not ideal but you can still track new items within the gear sub-categories. Captured by VideoGamer

For the time being, you can still track any new gear by checking the individual weapon and gear type slots, which display their own alert that functions separately from the overall inventory notification. And, individual weapons and armor will have their own alert if they are new within these sub-menus. It’s not ideal, but does at least let you find out what new gear you’ve picked up.
