Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is the newest addition to the Call of Duty series. The game will be set in the present day and will feature Task Force 141, a special operations unit of the United States Army created by Captain John Price after the events of Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019). As part of Task Force 141, Captain John Price will be joined by other members whom fans of the series may recognize, including Ghost and Soap. Here is a look at everything we know about the new Task Force 141 and its members so far.

What is Task Force 141 in Modern Warfare 2?

Task Force 141 is a military organization featured in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 video game. The player takes on the role of a Task Force 141 operative during the course of the game’s campaign mode. The operators of this organization are also playable in the game’s multiplayer modes, and will also be playable in Warzone 2.

Task Force 141 is a multinational special operations unit composed of members of the British SAS, the United States Army Rangers, United States Navy SEALs, and the United States Air Force Special Operations Command.

Task Force 141 appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Strike Team.

Who are the members of Task Force 141?

The members of Task Force 141 are a mix of some of the best soldiers from around the world. There are Americans, British, and more represented in the unit. Each member brings their own unique skills and experience to the table, making them a force to be reckoned with.

Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley

Ghost was the leader of Task Force 141 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Not much is known about him, except that he was a highly skilled and experienced soldier. He wore a mask to conceal his identity, and his voice was distorted to prevent anyone from identifying him. As the man with no face, he is a force to be reckoned with and was brought directly into Task Force 141 by Captain John Price.

While there is not much information on Ghost available, it can be inferred from the comics as well that he had a bad childhood, but still managed to persevere in order to join the SAS and become the legend that he is today.

John ‘Soap’ MacTavish

John ‘Soap’ MacTavish is one of the most iconic characters in the Call of Duty franchise. First appearing as the player character in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Soap quickly became a fan-favorite for his badass attitude and impressive skillset. In the years since, Soap has appeared in several Call of Duty games, most recently as a supporting character in 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Soap proudly displays his Scottish heritage on his dog-tags. After joining the SAS during the Second Russian Civil War, he proved himself as a capable fighter. Soap’s personality is that of a hardened soldier; he is tough and doesn’t hesitate to do what needs to be done. He is also a loyal friend and comrade, always looking out for his team. Soap is a skilled fighter and strategist, and is always cool under pressure. He is also quick-thinking and resourceful, able to come up with solutions to problems on the fly. In short, Soap is the perfect soldier; brave, skilled, and always ready to fight for what he believes in.

Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick

Kyle “Gaz” Garrick is a famous character in the Call of Duty series and he was first introduced in Call of Duty 4. He is a British SAS soldier who is part of Task Force 141. He joined the British Army at the age of 18, and later the SAS. Gaz has served in various conflicts all over the world. He is an expert in close-quarters combat, and is also an excellent marksman. Gaz is a loyal and reliable soldier, and is always ready to fight for his country.

Alejandro Vargas

Alejandro Vargas is a newly introduced character for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) game. He is a member of the Task Force 141, and a colonel in the Mexican Special Forces, in addition to being a leader of the faction Los Vaqueros. While not much is known about him at this time, players will be able to uncover exactly who he is as the events of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 unfold.

Captain John Price

Captain John Price is one of the most iconic characters in the Call of Duty franchise. Price is the leader of Task Force 141, a special operations unit that was created by himself and General Sheppard after a failed assassination attempt on Imran Zakhaev.

Price is a highly skilled and experienced soldier, who is known for his cool head under pressure. He is also a master strategist, often coming up with plans that allow his team to achieve their objectives with minimal casualties.

Captain Price is regarded as the old man in the group, and because of his experiences, he is trusted by the team to get the job done.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Launches Soon

While players who pre-ordered the game have access to the campaign, the official game does not release until October 28, 2022. Because of this, players will need to wait to see how the story of Task Force 141 unfolds in this newest rendition of Call of Duty.

Once the game goes live, players will be able to find out all they can about this elite fighting force. It should however be noted that as of this moment, players can only access the Task Force 141 operators in multiplayer and Warzone 2 when it launches if they purchased the Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition for $99.99.

This means that while players can enjoy Task Force 141 in the campaign, they will have to make an additional purchase if they want to play as them elsewhere.
