EA has no plans to charge for traditionally free demos
Publisher clarifies position after reports of paid for 'very long game demos'.

Yesterday a research note published by Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter revealed that EA was considering charging for extended pre-release game demos - something akin to Battlefield 1943 - with successful demos to be turned into a "full blown packaged game" at a later date.
This lead to speculation that the publisher intended to phase out traditionally free game demos, in favour of paid for samplers.
However, according to EA's Jeff Brown, this is not the case, telling Kotaku the publisher is working on a "number of projects for delivering premium content to consumers before, during, and after the launch of a packaged-goods version of the game".
He added that none of EA's proposals "call for charging consumers for traditionally free game demos".
