Epic Games has turned Fortnite into one of the most popular games of all time. Thanks to its unique mechanics and fun gameplay, the battle royale title still gets millions of daily players, despite being in its seventh year. On top of this, Fortnite has a rich lore, which is why many players would love to see a movie about it.

The lore certainly hasn’t been the priority over the past few seasons. However, there is still a lot of material that could be used to make a Fortnite movie. Donald Mustard, the former creative director of Fortnite, wants to oversee the production of the movie. However, it doesn’t seem that this will happen anytime soon.

A movie about Fortnite could be a massive success

Fortnite has a lot of interesting characters, from Jonesy to The Paradigm. Many of these characters have been included in the storyline over the past few years. However, we don’t really know everything that happened to them. Epic partnered with Marvel and DC to make comics that reveal more details about certain characters, but we still have many questions left.

Turning Fortnite into a movie could answer all of our questions and tie up loose ends. Donald Mustard, who did a fantastic job with the game for more than four years, wants to be in charge of it. The former Epic Games executive recently spoke to GamesRadar+, revealing his plan for the movie. Unfortunately, it may not happen anytime soon.

“If there ever was a Fortnite movie, I know exactly how I would make it. I think I would make the best version of that,” Mustard shared in an exclusive interview with the publication. He believes that people would love this movie, however, he also doesn’t think that it will happen anytime soon. “I don’t think there will be a Fortnite movie at least not anytime soon,” the former game director shared.

After leaving his position at Epic, Donald Mustard joined AGBO, a production company. In his new position, he works with the Russo Brothers, who directed several masterpieces, including Avengers: Endgame. Mustard wants to oversee the production, and we believe that he’d be perfect for it. However, Epic needs to give a green light before anything can happen.
