If you’re wondering whether you can replace the PSVR 2 cable, we got the answer right here, and that answer is no.

The PSVR 2 has been released to rave reviews and general praise, but, unfortunately, just like with the first PSVR, the cable that connects to your PlayStation is not replaceable or removable.

This is all the more annoying after rumours leaked last year that it would be fully replaceable, news that was met with excitement and praise. This means that if you break the cable you are, unfortunately going to have to shell out some cash.

Let’s break down what to do if your cable does break.

How to fix a broken PSVR 2 cable?

The bad news is that there is no simple way to fix a broken PSVR 2 cable yourself. Any attempt to do so puts you are risk of breaking the headset entirely.

This means that you will need to send the headset to Sony and they will send you a replacement. If your headset arrived damaged you will be covered by Sony’s warranty. If it was damaged in an accident, unfortunately, you will not be.

This means that you can still send your headset off to Sony and they will replace it but they will charge you a hefty fee.

We have not been able to find the exact cost for this in the US or UK, though we know that in Australia they charge a standard fee of $440, which includes the postage and packaging. For reference, this is half the cost of a brand-new headset.

Assuming this is the same in the US and UK, this means that an out-of-warranty exchange will cost $275 or £265, though this is unconfirmed.
