Let’s talk about the LG C4 OLED TV and its speculated release date.

LG have just announced the LG C4 OLED TV, which will be the successor to the popular LG C3. The C4 is one of the most anticipated TVs of 2024 and after months of build up, we finally have more information ahead of CES 2024.

Over here at VideoGamer, we’re a big fan of the LG C-series. The series has had consistently high performing TVs with each iteration better than the last.

All three TVs so far have been OLED TVs, jam packed full of high quality features. The jump between each TV hasn’t been that major, as each TV already performs well. The main differences are higher peak brightness’s and faster operating systems.

When could the LG C4 TV be released?

The LG C4, alongside the rest of the LG 2024 TV range, have been unveiled officially.

The following models are expected at some point in 2024: 42-inch, 48-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch.

While there is no confirmed date or period for release, what we do have is the LG C-series release date history. The LG C1 first came out in April 2021 and since then, there has been a new iteration every year with the C2 released in March 2022, and the C3 in March 2023.

With that in mind, we can predict with confidence that we’ll see the LG C4 in Q1 of 2024, likely either March or April. If that’s the case, we’d suggest holding off on picking up an LG C3 until we know for certain when the C4 is coming.

LG C4 specs, price and features speculation

If LG continue as they have been doing then we’d expect to see improved brightness. This could be achieved from the addition of MLA technology which is part of LG’s G-series. MLA technology increases brightness by a fair degree and is a notable feature of the G-series.

In terms of refresh rate, the LG C-series all come with a substantial 120Hz. According to HDTVTest, the LG C4 will be equipped with 144Hz refresh rate. We’re not sure whether it would be worth it for LG to up the refresh rate to 240Hz. No doubt, it’d be a great selling point for those with high quality gaming PCs.

Price wise, all of the current C-series are around the $1000-$2000 mark. Apart from the 77 inch and 83 inch TVs which are more around $3000. If LG follow in their own footsteps then its looking like the C4 will be in the same price range.
