Resolution upscaling support

One of the most exciting features implemented in the PC’s release is the inclusion (or development) of resolution upscaling. While the PS5 version of the game had a few graphics modes, Fidelity and Perfomance, the variations of which allowed you to game at 4K @ 30FPS, 1440p @ 60FPS, 4K @ 40FPS, and if you have VRR, you could game at unlocked frame-rates.

However, these utilised upscaling technology to artificially increase resolution. The PC version of the game is set to feature support for AMD FSR 2.2 and Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution.

Depending on your gaming rig, these features will allow the game to be enjoyed in a plethora of frame-rates at much higher frame rates. Alongside that, VSync will unlock higher frame-rate caps and stability that will only improve the graphical experience.

Advanced graphical adjustability

Aside from the inclusion of FSR and DLSS, the game will also feature adjustable graphics settings for ‘Texture Quality, Shadows, Reflections, Ambient Occlusion and more.’

This is a feature heavily anticipated, though expected, for PC gamers. Many of which will have PCs of varying performance and quality.

Ultrawide display support

The Last of Us is renowned for its fantastic graphical immersion, and ultrawide display support is only going to make that better.

This does require stereo headphones or compatible speakers to take advantage of.

Controller support and control remapping

The Last of Us Part 1 PC will also feature DualSense compatibility. Seeing as the game was originally designed with controller in mind, there’s no doubt that this version is going to be best enjoyed with one.

Alongside that, there’s going to be remappable controls, which will suit anyone choosing to game on alternative gamepads.

Alongside that, keyboard and mouse users will have ‘full control remapping’ which would give players the most control of the game.

Some other features that the PC game is set to champion include additional accessibility features, meaning that a much wider range of players can enjoy the game.

At the time of writing, it’s not confirmed what these features will be.
