Run into the Llamabeard error message whilst playing Sea of Thieves? Don’t worry you’re not alone. We’ve got you covered right here.
Sea of Thieves normally offers a fun and seamless sail whilst playing the game. But sometimes it is possible to run into errors. The game still manages to make errors fun however by giving them unusual titles that will often include the word ‘beard’. The Llamabeard error message can be particularly frustrating as it is usually accompanied with a vague description outlining the problem.
If you are an unlucky Captain and have encountered the Llamabeard issue then we’ve got your sorted. Here is what you need to know about the Sea of Thieves Llamabeard error message; what causes it and how to fix it.
What causes the Sea of Thieves Llamabeard error code?
The official Sea of Thieves support page says that the Llamabeard error happens when there is a disparity between the Steam account that you purchased your copy of Sea of Thieves in and the Steam account you’re currently logged into. This happens when you are logged out of Steam and try to launch Sea of Thieves from a desktop icon.
Alternatively, the issue can stem from authentication issues when either the Sea of Thieves or Steam servers are down or there is an issue with the Xbox servers. Essentially, issues occur when there is a lack of connection from or to Steam.
How to fix the Sea of Thieves Llamabeard error code
Often the error codes require a simple fix. Try the below steps to resolve the issue:
- Check if the Sea of Thieves servers are down: Occasionally the servers will be down to install updates or resolve issues. Because it requires users to be online, you can’t avoid this by playing offline.
- Check Steam servers: As most do, servers can undergo maintenance. This shouldn’t last long and it is a relatively common issue.
- Make sure you are logged into the Steam account that purchased Sea of Thieves: If you aren’t, relog in with the correct account and relaunch the game.
- Log out and relaunch Steam: Simple but effective. If all of the servers are up and running then sometimes it may be a case of refreshing Steam.
