Sons of the Forest early access is soon to launch, though before it’s here you might interested in reading about whether or not the game can be played in VR.
The Forest, the prequel to the Sons of the Forest, released in 2014, and quickly became one of the most played games, with a dedicated, cult-like fanbase. Nine years on, the sequel is here, and the buzz around the game is just as big as we expected.
It releases just a day after the PSVR 2 hit the shelves, so the possibility of enjoying the game in VR is on everyone’s mind. However, the game isn’t currently playable on PS5, meaning that it’s not playable on PSVR 2 either. However, that doesn’t quite exclude it from being playable on other VR headsets – so let’s see if it’s possible to play Sons of the Forest in VR.
Can you play Sons of the Forest in VR?
We’ve had a look at the Sons of the Forest Steam page, and unfortunately, there is no mention of Sons of the Forest being playable in VR.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that the game will never be playable in VR, as of course, we know that The Forest was. It could very much be similar to what we recently saw with Gran Turismo 7, which recently received a free patch making the game playable on PSVR 2. At some point, we could hope to see Sons of the Forest receive a similar patch, especially considering the soft spot fans had for the original’s VR mode.
However, there is no official confirmation that the game is going to be playable in VR, so we can only really offer speculation at this point.
