Sons of the Forest, the highly anticipated sequel to The Forest, is an open-world survival game in which you fight against monsters. We’ve already had a look at whether or not the game is CPU or GPU intensive, and if it runs on a Steam Deck, however to give a straight answer to the question of if Sons of the Forest can run on Mac: No, it can’t. At least, not yet.
Mac is not a system designed to run games. We’ve already seen that with Hogwarts Legacy, which was too intensive of a game to run on a non-gaming rig. Sons of the Forest will also be facing a similar fate, as the game will definitely be too much for a Mac to handle.
The Sons of the Forest system requirements clearly state that the game 64-bit Windows 10 OS is the minimum required, and nothing else is compatible.

As of yet, there’s nothing to suggest that the game is coming to Mac. The developers haven’t dropped a hint, nor is there any official documentation suggesting so. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s not possible. For example, huge games such as Civilization VI, Diablo 3 (whose successor is soon to come) and Bioshock have all ended up on Mac. Could Sons of the Forest be next?
Honestly, we don’t think it will. The game is undoubtedly huge and has a very dedicated playerbase. The only thing is that the game is far too graphically intensive to run on a Mac, mostly due to the lack of a graphics card in the system.
