Yakuza series producer Daisuke Sato has revealed that the development team isn't ruling out bringing Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 to PlayStation 4 at some point.
Speaking with PlayStation Access, Sato-san said that Sega would consider overhauling the punchy action-RPGs for Sony's latest telly box, although as expected there would have to be sufficient demand for them to see the light of day. Nothing has been confirmed at this point, so it could go either way.
'If we get a lot of requests to make them, we may consider it,' he said, though wouldn't comment any further on the matter. Still, as all three titles are PlayStation 3 games they presumably wouldn't require much more than a bit of spit and polish in the visual department, as opposed to a complete Yakuza Kiwami-style remake.
The most recent entry in the curb-stomping gangster series was released exclusively for PS4 last week, and Colm thought it was a mighty fine curtain call for protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. That's not to say Yakuza is finished; Kiryu may be out, but Sega's still working on a new game in the franchise alongside a fresh IP.
