XDefiant player says this is when the game gets sweaty

XDefiant has quickly become one of the hottest FPS games available today, with Ubisoft making a game that will push gamers to their limits due to the lack of skill-based matchmaking. Because of this, players across all skill levels are being paired up and every match is a test of ability, which some see as a breath of fresh air. Not everyone feels this way though as some feel the gamer is too sweaty for them to compete, with Ubisoft even trolling these players with participation trophies.

U/Qwazeemodo took to Reddit to share their experience as they climbed the ranks in XDefiant, noting that when they went beyond level 25, this is when the game got extremely difficult saying,

“Started playing this week on console like a lot of us did, was having a blast the last few nights grinding out attachments and learning the game. Before I was taken out of the level 25 playlist I was having amazing games, k/d usually at least 2.0…this morning I started playing with everyone else and my god! I was having the worst games in my gaming life on any game ever lol. Like I’m going 9-30, 12-25, 20-40. Like absolute dog water.”

U/Thick_Chain3182 has had a similar experience, going from dominating the Welcome playlist to being “spawn camped” in many matches after going into regular lobbies, “I left Welcome playlist today and I was going 30-20 or something similar every game but basically every game I player I just ended up getting spawn camped. It was horrible.”

I have talked about sniping and bunny hopping being a problem in XDefiant recently, and it looks like other gamers are discovering that they are an issue in the game, such as u/FitSquirrel596 who stated that “out of level 25 lobbyies I’m getting quickscoped the whole damn time. Snipers ruining my fun. And also those bunny hopping sliding kids. I don’t have back buttons it’s not fair. I refuse to buy a 200 bucks controller to compete.”

However, not everyone has had the same experience though, as u/Lassie_Maven claims that they had a worse time in the Welcome playlist and found the game less sweaty the more that they played saying “I actually found the Welcome playlist to be much less enjoyable. I stopped playing in it and have had a much better overall experience.”

Of course, going beyond level 25 isn’t a guarantee that the game will suddenly become too sweaty for you as everyone is at a different skill level. So for some, the Welcome playlist is their limit, for some level 25 still feels like a basic lobby that they can dominate. But as you climb the ranks it is understandable that you will be more likely to encounter good players who can give you a run for your money.
