WWE fans have got a first and uninspiring look at WWE 2K26. In an Instagram story shared by Austin Creed (a.k.a. Xavier Woods), the New Day member is filming material alongside UpUpDownDown partner, Tyler Breeze. We don’t know exactly what the duo is filming, but it’s possibly another intro to MyGM mode, similar to WWE 2K24 and 2K25.
There’s admittedly not much to gather from the behind-the-scenes image, but at the same time, it’s definitely not getting fans hyped for news. The WWE 2K logo is exactly the same again, with the only difference being a six instead of five. On top of that, it’s the same two presenters who have been all over the past few installments, from annoying tutorial messages to awkward promos.
The WWE 2K24 MyGM intro included cover star Cody Rhodes, and the WWE 2K25 intro featured Paul Heyman as advocate for cover star Roman Reigns. Whoever the cover star is for WWE 2K26, it’s likely history will repeat itself.
Courtesy of SmackDown Hotel, we know WWE 2K26 is slated to come out in Q4 Fiscal 2026, which basically means before March 31 next year. This is the same as every other release since WWE 2K22, so expect the game to be revealed close to the Royal Rumble before releasing in early March.
WWE 2K25 was underwhelming. Leaks in January spoiled the additions of mixed gender matches plus The Island, WWE’s version of NBA’s The City. Mixed gender matches is a novelty that quickly wore off, meanwhile, The Island is a predatory bore. For WWE 2K26, we pray for innovation like the return of Create A Story, but fans are bracing themselves for simply more of the same with 2K doubling down on microtransactions for The Island and MyFaction.
