WWE 2K25 is set to properly unveiled very soon. Roman Reigns possibly teased a cover reveal for the January 27th edition of RAW, meanwhile, the series’ official social account is counting down to January 28th. While official details are incoming, leaks claim to have already big news for this year’s installment. Nothing is gospel right now, but a major WWE 2K25 leak has possibly been confirmed by the devs teasing a returning match type.

WWE 2K25 devs seemingly tease intergender matches

On the WWEGames X account, the return of intergender matches has possibly been teased for WWE 2K25. The developers posted a video of Rhea Ripley delivering a promo hyping up the game, only to be interrupted by Dominik Mysterio as soon as she said, “some people think that inter…”.

Above the video, there also the emojis of the male and female symbol. Although this doesn’t confirm anything, the video certainly suggests that intergender matches are returning for the first time in over ten years.

This tease is especially interesting as it comes mere days after a leak claimed intergender matches will be part of WWE 2K25. The leak also reported that this year’s installment of wrestling would see the introduction of WWE’s version of The City from NBA.

While it seems HipHopGamer’s leak about intergender matches is accurate, it remains to be seen if there will be a version of The City. A version of The City seemed far-fetched before, but now the leak is feeling plausible thanks to the tease of male vs. female matches.

The return of intergender matches would be fantastic, but it depends on how it is implemented. It could possibly be restricted to just 1v1 which would be disappointing, and it would also be disappointing if matches couldn’t take place in stipulations such as ladder, steel cage, elimination chamber, royal rumble etc.

In our WWE 2K24 review, we praised the stunning presentation and fun gameplay. The game had its biggest roster ever with over 200 wrestlers, and it introduced new match types to the series such as ambulance.
