Publisher 2K Games has announced that WWE 2K22 will launch in March of 2022 during the WWE’s Summerslam event over the weekend.

Traditionally, the series has released in November, but a new trailer has revealed that the first entry since 2019’s troubled WWE 2K20 will arrive around the time of the WWE’s flagship Wrestlemania event. Promised in the series’ return are new controllers, stunning graphics and a redesigned engine.

The team are promising more information, including presumably a full roster reveal, for January 2022. However, from the trailer we can deduce a few names that should be appearing. These include Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, Bayley, Edge, Bobby Lashley and Kofi Kingston to name but a few.

The series was first revealed to be making its grand return back during this year’s Wrestlemania with a trailer featuring famed-long tenured superstar Rey Mysterio. Meanwhile rival wrestling company AEW—who signed CM Punk over the weekend—look to have their own game in the works with former WWE developer Yukes. Perhaps we might see a battle of the wrestling games next year? We’ll have to wait and see.

WWE 2K22 doesn’t have confirmed platforms just yet, but expect to see it on Xbox and PlayStation in March of 2022. Check out the trailer for yourself below.
