Wuthering Waves is a new gacha game that has jumped onto the scene and immediately gained a huge fanbase. Right now it is currently exclusive to PC and mobile, but that could be set to change fairly soon. A Wuthering Waves leak suggests a PS5 release could be imminent, and fans are praying that there will be cross save and crossplay from day one.
Kuro Games has confirmed the upcoming playable characters for update 1.2, and “beautiful” animations have leaked showing unseen gameplay for both Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao. The expected release date for Zhezhi is in August with Xiangli Yao shortly following in September. Both of their arrivals are highly-anticipated, and we don’t have too long to wait for their playable debut.
Everyone is enjoying Wuthering Waves tremendously, but there is an urge to see it on more platforms. Fortunately, it appears Kuro Games’ PS5 version could be arriving soon.
Is Wuthering Waves coming to PS5?
Wuthering Waves is coming to PS5. Per PushSquare, Kuro Games said at the Unreal Fest convention in Shanghai earlier this year that a PS5 build is being developed and that it will be on par with the PC version running at Ultra graphics.
Kuro said there will be a PS4 and PS5 edition, but that they would arrive after the release date for PC and mobile. There has been no update from the developer since, but it appears the PlayStation release could be fairly imminent.
Leaker WuWaLand has said the game is releasing on PlayStation soon via Razor_Language, and on Reddit there is a screenshot of the leak with “PlayStation Network icons found in the files”. Some in the Reddit replies are fearful that the game is not coming to PS4, but that isn’t implied in the screenshot as both PS4 and PS5 are referenced: T_PlatformPs40 and T_PlatformPs52.
In reacting to the suggestion that the game will land on PlayStation soon, fans have one big hope and that is the availability of crossplay and cross save from day one.
One of the top replies says, “I really really hope cross-save will be a thing if true. While I would infinitely prefer to play on my PS5, I just can’t if it means giving up my account and starting over again. Praying and hoping for the best”.
Another comment says, “As a mobile player, PS5 not having cross save would be the end of my road. I like the game but I just can’t fully enjoy it on mobile and I don’t feel like starting over having already spent a significant amount”.
Away from the hope that cross save will be immediately available, fans simply cannot wait for it to land on PlayStation. Some in the comments are hoping for Xbox and Nintendo Switch releases, too, but, sadly, they are highly unlikely.
