Blizzard has set a date for its next major content updates for World of Warcraft Dragonflight, with both the Embers of Neltharion dropping in early May along with the Dragonflight Season 2 update following just a week later.

The Embers of Neltharion update – also referred to as patch 10.1 – will see a brand new region added to the game in the form of the Zaralek Caverns. Of course, a new location also means new quests, new places to explore, new NPCs to meet and public events to take part in too. On top of that, the update will also bring along the highly anticipated Cross-Faction Guild feature, finally allowing them to share resources like Guild Chat and Guild Repairs.

Elsewhere, the update will see the addition of Fyrrak Assaults, a new renown track for the Loamm Niffen offering unique renown rewards and activities, and a bunch of Dragonriding updates – with not only new courses and abilities, but a brand new drake to ride in the form of the Winding Slitherdrake when the Embers of Neltharion update arrives on May 3, 2023.

Then, as detailed on the World of Warcraft Blog, Season 2 will be close behind – launching on the week beginning May 9, 2023. That’ll see the introduction of a brand new Raid; Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. It’ll be a tough battle for any brave or foolish enough to take it on, with a whopping nine bosses to defeat. It’ll be available in Normal, Heroic or Mythic difficulties, with all three being available on the same day.

In so far as the Mythic+ rotation of dungeons will go, four more will be available for players to raid from the Dragonflight set, which are as follows:

  • Brackenhide Hollow
  • Halls of Infusion
  • Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr
  • Neltharus

Along with those, four returning dungeons from previous expansions will also be made available for those wanting to tackle the tough Mythic runs. They’ll be as follows:

  • Freehold from Battle for Azeroth
  • The Underrot from Battle for Azeroth
  • Neltharion’s Lair from Legion
  • Vortex Pinnacle from Cataclysm
