Team Ninja has dropped a new update for Souls-like game Wo Long Fallen Dynasty – with patch 1.05 dropping today.

As well as a whole bunch of fixes – there’s also been a number of balancing changes, most notably with the game’s first boss – Zhang Liang that should hopefully make him a little less tricky to defeat for newcomers.

As per the lengthy patch notes, Team Ninja has reduced the HP of the boss’s first form, and adjusted each type of damage too. While usually making an encounter easier wouldn’t be what you expect from a Souls-like, the community have embraced the changes, given the encounter comes early enough that it could cause new players to bounce off the game at its current difficulty.

“I think he’s a good boss, but he’s a bit much for the very first boss. If he was slightly later in the game, he would’ve been perfect, but he also makes a very strong and good first impression,” says Wo Long subreddit user AggronStrong.

Even those that hadn’t struggled with the boss in their pre-patch form have welcomed the change, saying that they’re glad Team Ninja has “listened to the community” with these changes.

You can check out the full patch notes over on the game’s official website. Patch 1.05 for Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is available to download now for the game on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
