With Modern Warfare 2 now in the wild, Call of Duty fans are gearing up for the next step in the series’ Battle Royale aspirations, with the launch of Warzone 2 in a matter of days.
The free to play sequel will arrive with MW2’s engine and a load of new features, including a new proximity chat – but players are curious if there will be an early access period ahead of the official launch on November 16.

We’ve done some investigating, and here’s what we’ve found out so far about Warzone 2 early access.
Will Warzone 2 have early access?
Despite the fact that there was an early access event for select influencers, which took place on November 9, Activision has not announced any public early access for Warzone 2.
With release day now days away we are almost certain now there will be no early access for Warzone 2. Instead, players will have to wait until the Warzone 2’s full release on November 16, 2022.
The first Call of Duty Warzone had a brief early access period for those who owned that year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).
Those that did own that game were able to play the game for four hours before Warzone was released as a free to play game to everyone else. This was likely to stress test servers and warm the up ahead of the majority jumping in – to ensure a smooth experience.

No. This has not been confirmed and early access seems very unlikely now given how close Warzone 2 is to launch.
Will Warzone 2 replace Warzone?
No. Warzone will not be shut down, rather it’ll be called Warzone Caldera and live alongside Warzone 2.
