The arrival of Destiny 2 Lightfall has brought a much needed change to Bungie’s multiplayer FPS title after over a year of content had been provided through The Witch Queen expansion.

With every new beginning, however, there naturally has to be an end. For this reason, we’ll be taking a look at the possible end date of the Lightfall expansion as well as what Bungie’s plans are for the entirety of its run.

Here’s when we expect Destiny 2’s latest chapter to conclude.

Destiny 2 Lightfall Expected End Date

We expect Destiny 2 Lightfall to conclude towards the end of February 2024 based on the time frame of the last franchise installment. There will also most likely be four seasons released throughout the course of the DLC, much like how it was with The Witch Queen.

Once Lightfall has ended, Bungie will then be releasing what will apparently be the last expansion of The Light and Darkness Saga, which is temporarily entitled The Final Shape. It’s currently unclear what the developers plans are after this latest story line has ended.

Lightfall sets the stage for what should be an epic final battle between Guardians and The Witness. We’ll also be able to learn more about the latter’s plans for the city of Neomuna as we continue to progress through the current expansion.

With this in mind, you won’t have to worry about the current expansion ending for a while since each new chapter typically lasts for about a year. In the meantime, you can enjoy the content that Lightfall brings to the table such as the new subclasses, Exotic weapons, and many more.
