Devolver Digital has announced a delay for upcoming action RPG Weird West, due early next year.

The game was originally set to be moseying onto our consoles and PC in the first couple of weeks of January. However, the team has come across some issues in early feedback that have set back those plans. “More time is needed to deliver an experience that the community expects from WolfEye and Devolver,” a statement reads. “The team understands that this might be a disappointment to folks, but want to ensure that the game they’ve worked on for years is launched in the best form possible.”

If you’re not up to speed, the game is a mixture of a Western and supernatural anthology. You’ll follow five stories that intersect, including a gun-slinging clairvoyant & a cowboy who’s had his head swapped with a pig’s. The game was first unveiled during The Game Awards in 2019.

The development team, WolfEye Studios, is headed up by former Arkane boss Raphael Colantonio. He appears in a video apologising for the delay, which you can see for yourself below. Weird West will now land on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on March 31, 2022. It’ll also be available from Day One via Xbox Game Pass.
