The introduction of a Warzone 2 Ranked mode was recently announced by Infinity Ward and Raven Software as part of the midseason update. However, many within the community believe that its addition to the battle royale won’t change anything due to the fact that it continues to be plagued by several broken features.

Now that the Warzone 2 Ranked mode set to launch with Season 3 Reloaded, fans were initially intrigued at its announcement as many had felt that CoD’s massive match offering had become stale after remaining virtually the same since launch. But it seems that a large portion of the player base is starting to realize that there won’t be much of a difference as the developers continue to ignore the fundamental problems that it has.

According to a Twitter post from CoD news aggregator CharlieIntel, Infinity Ward has once again decided not to provide any “TTK updates, movement updates, or server fixes.” “So while the basic features of Ranked that Treyarch & Raven have created seem good, if the core game is still rough, then I don’t think Ranked will change anything,” they continued.

CoD players have long been complaining about these particular in-game elements since its launch in 2022, and yet the developers still haven’t done anything to address these issues. Some are still holding out hope that they’ll eventually be fixed. However, a majority of users have seemingly given up already as evidenced by the mass exodus that caused the battle royale’s Twitch numbers to reach an all-time low.

With the 2023 CoD installment already in the works, Infinity Ward may no longer be planning on improving the current state of the game. This is because the player base will undoubtedly move over to the new, shinier toy once it eventually gets released towards the tail end of the year. However, this refusal to address key problems surely won’t help the developer’s reputation, and it may even hurt their game’s sales once they eventually start producing a new CoD entry again.
