Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have announced they’re working on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, for new generation consoles and PC.

You’ll once more be stepping into the boots of one Captain Titus. In the trailer, we see an Imperial hive world overrun by Tyranids. They’re after killing any and everything and sucking up the remains into their spaceships. The forces of the Astra Militarum are the guys trying to hold them back without much success. That is, until our hero’s squad steps into the fray.

Expect plenty of deadly abilities, devastating weaponry & hordes of enemy Tyranids to slice through in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. There’ll be “epic battles on far-flung planets”, we’re told. You’ll also get to uncover dark secrets, and “drive back the everlasting night” as you “prove your ultimate loyalty to humanity”.

The game is a sequel to 2011 title Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine by Relic Entertainment and the now-defunct original incarnation of THQ. This time around, Saber Interactive are taking up development duties, and Focus Entertainment will handle publishing. If you’re keeping track, it’s the first of four new games Saber has promised to reveal this week.
