Focus Entertainment has announced a delay to their highly anticipated sequel, Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2, to “provide [the developers with] the time needed to properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience.” The new launch date for the follow-up entry has yet to be specified. However, the publisher has stated that it will be revealed soon enough, in early December (possibly during The Game Awards.)

For those eager to find out when the new Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 release date is, though, Focus Entertainment revealed that it is poised to launch “in the second half of 2024,” which means it may end up being made available between the typical launch window of September to November. Of course, take this information with a grain of salt for now, as this has yet to be confirmed by the publisher or developer themselves.

The community’s reaction towards the delay has surprisingly been positive so far, as most players were apparently expecting a postponement after Focus Entertainment failed to announce a specific release date throughout the current year. Naturally, many supported the decision to push the game’s launch back, with one X user saying: “Smart idea. If it means getting something that plays smoothly with great performance and visuals, a delay is greatly welcomed.”

Of course, if you were eager to get your hands on the latest Warhammer 40k installment, all you can do now is remain patient until the upcoming entry gets released.
