Ubisoft has announced that it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with MTO Co., Ltd to distribute Dogz for the GBA. It is apparently the first puppy simulation game made exclusively for the GBA and Ubisoft will distribute the game worldwide (bar Japan) in November this year.

I can’t help but think there is an element of cashing in on Ubisoft’s part. With the recent success of Nintendogs, a GBA puppy game seems like a sure-fire hit. Whether or not the game will have the charm of Nintendo’s DS game remains to be seen, but what it will have are 49 dogs from 18 breeds that you’ll be able to play with, train, feed and groom.

If you love the sound of Nintendogs, but only own a GBA, Dogz might be able to fill that virtual pet sized whole you’ve been carrying around with you.
