Long-awaited Zelda-inspired adventure Tunic released last night, and as a surprise bonus it’s arrived day one on Xbox Game Pass.

The game casts you as a brave fox exploring a land filled with legends, ancient powers and ferocious monsters. You wake up to find yourself stranded on this mysterious land, and soon set forth on a grand adventure. Naturally, you start off with just a stick to defend yourself, but you’ll soon be finding plenty of weapons and tools to help you.

As a neat nod to the games that inspired it, Tunic also includes a virtual instruction manual. You’re able to refer to this manual, complete with hand-drawn illustrations at any time for combat tips, hints and more. However, it starts off incomplete and you’ll have to find its lost pages scattered around the world.

We first heard about Tunic all the way back in 2015 when it went under the name of Secret Legend. It got something of a re-debut at Microsoft’s E3 2018 showcase, when it was first confirmed as coming to Xbox consoles too.

We’re promised a world stuffed full of secrets to explore and discover, and much more besides. You can check out a trailer for the game for yourself down below. Tunic is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. And yes, it’s available immediately at no extra cost to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
