Island management strategy title Tropico 6 will be heading to the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in a new Next Gen edition this March, publisher Kalypso Media has announced.

This new version will include all the content from the original 2019 release, but given an extra boost thanks to the new consoles including native 4K resolution. The pack also includes a digital soundtrack and two DLC packs. Those are ‘The Llama of Wall Street’ and the El Prez Pack.

If you’re not familiar, Tropico 6 challenges you to build and run your own island paradise. This means both in terms of buildings and the running of its society. You’ll have to consider infrastructure like bridges, tunnels and roads and take into account both residents and tourists’ needs. Tropico 6 also introduces large archipelagos for the first time in the series, challenging you to manage multiple islands at once.

You’ll play through four different eras in the story mode, or a more free-form sandbox mode. There’s also a revised research system to allow you to tweak your political policies as the island’s dictator. You’ll also get the chance to send agents on dangerous missions to steal wonders and monuments for your own collection. There’s also multiplayer supported for up to 4 players.

Tropico 6 Next Gen Edition will arrive on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on March 31 2022.
