Kalypso Media and Torus Games have announced tennis sim Matchpoint – Tennis Championships coming to consoles & PC in the Spring.

The game promises to serve up an “authentic gameplay and immersive tennis experience”. The focus will be on realistic scenarios and player reactions in Matchpoint – Tennis Championships. Tactics and player positioning will be key, and the game includes “sophisticated character animations” and “unprecedented player control” on the court.

We’re told there’ll be an extensive career mode with a merit-based ranking system in Matchpoint – Tennis Championships. You’ll be able to customise your players attributes and attire with plenty of named brands from the sport of Tennis. You’ll also be able to unlock special equipment by completing competitive matches.

Flat, lob and slice shots will all be key, and you’ll get to pick from a range of techniques like left or right backhanded. No tennis sim worth its salt would be without some big names from the sport too, of course. Matchpoint – Tennis Championships features Nick Kyrgios, Kei Nishikori and Amanda Anisimova to name a few.

There’s Practice and training modes to perfect your game, and courts from around the world with unique characteristics. They include grass, clay and hard courts, of course. There’s online play, duels and exhibition games too, with online play present and correct. You can check out a trailer for the game for yourself down below.

Matchpoint – Tennis Championships arrives in Spring 2022 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
