Gran Turismo 5 is shaping up to be quite a package. At gamescom yesterday series creator Kazunori Yamauchi revealed three new features. Most interesting is the track creation mode, which lets players set a series of attributes, such as frequency of curves and sharpness of corners, before generating a new course to race around. These tracks can then be shared with friends online.
Next up was kart racing, a feature Yamauchi was intended to implement in Gran Turismo 6. The diddy little karts are in stark contrast to the super-powered vehicles on display elsewhere in the game. Less exciting, for us anyway, is the somewhat baffling B-Spec mode, in which you manage and nurture a driver through a career. We’re not sure why you’d want to do this instead of racing yourself.
Gran Turismo 5 is due for release in the UK on November 3, exclusively for PS3.
