Toy Soldiers HD, the remastered version of the 2010 XBLA action-strategy game, will now launch on September 9, developer Accelerate Games has announced.

There’s plenty of updates promised in this new version. They include “improved single and multiplayer gameplay”, the obligatory improved graphics, camera and sound and all the previously-released DLC. The team also promise this version will include “never-before played content” that’s all new for this version. As before, you’ll take a range of tanks, soldiers and other units across a range of pint-sized battlefields.

We were quite fond of the original, giving it a score of 8 in our review at the time. Reviewer Jamin Smith said: “Toy Soldiers waves the flag for its genre valiantly. The strategy is in depth, the shooting is solid, and the combined blend of the two is executed with charm and finesse.”

The remaster was originally aiming to launch in August as per the announcement back in May. However, the launch just missed that target ever so slightly, and it’s now coming in the second week of September.
