The company currently known as Telltale Games has shared an end of 2021 update with fans, promising more information next year on The Wolf Among Us 2.
A second season of the adventure was originally announced all the way back in 2017. However, a year later Telltale Games was then broken down and sold off due to “insurmountable challenges’. A new company named LCG Entertainment bought the remains and revived Telltale as a new studio in 2019. The game was then revived and re-announced during The Game Awards in 2019, but there’s been nary a peep since.
It seems that will finally change come next year. In its end of year update, Telltale acknowledged the long wait for info. “It’s been two years since we first signalled Telltale’s rebirth. We’ve done so much in that time and we have so much more work ahead of us. We’ll continue sharing what we can, when we can.”
Before then, the studio is partnering with Life is Strange: True Colours developer Deck Nine Games to work on The Expanse: A Telltale Series. Announced during this year’s The Game Awards, it’ll be a prequel to the Amazon television series The Expanse. You can check out a trailer for that down below, underneath the tweet.
As for The Wolf Among Us 2, Telltale says to “hang in for early next year when we can go deeper into things”. Fans of Bigsby and the gang – ourselves included – certainly will.
END OF 2021 UPDATE:
It's been a busy year and things are only going to get more exciting from here. Thanks for being with us on this adventure so far – and we can't wait for what's next.
Have a happy, healthy rest of the holiday season and see all you folks in 2022! pic.twitter.com/D7vzArpfBN
