The Wolf Among Us 2 was announced at The Game Awards last night, and it will be made by former Telltale Games employees (via Forbes).
I don’t know about you but that makes the announcement all the more sweet. In 2018, Telltale Games closed its doors due to a series of “insurmountable challenges” in an “incredibly difficult year.” Unfortunately, a huge number of people were made redundant in the holiday season as a result, and game developers across the world banded together to make #TelltaleJobs a place to find job openings in a time of dire need. When LCG Entertainment said that it would be reviving and developing new games under the Telltale Games name, it was hoped that those who had lost their jobs twelve months prior would be offered the opportunity to return to their projects.
The Wolf Among Us 2 made its debut with a dimly lit and smoky neon teaser trailer, and (new) Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie was able to confirm that “key talent” have been brought on board to produce the new game. AdHoc Studios is a development group comprised of original Telltale Games employees, like directors Nick Herman and Dennis Lenart, writer Pierre Shorette, voice actors Adam Harrington and Erin Yvette, and composer Jared Emerson-Johnson. Telltale Games and AdHoc Studios will be working together to make The Wolf Among Us 2, so this is fabulous news indeed. In addition, original Telltale Games vice president of engineering Zac Litton is the chief technology officer for new Telltale Games.
As for the game itself, it will focus on Bigby Wolf and Snow White’s relationship and is set some time after the events of The Wolf Among Us. The game is being written in episodes, however that doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be divided into these episodes when it releases. It will be coming to PC as a timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store, and it will be coming to consoles too. We don’t know when The Wolf Among Us 2 will release, but the first game is free on the Epic Games Store for one week if interested parties want to give it a try.
The Wolf Among Us is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
