Ubisoft has announced its upcoming reboot of long-running RTS title The Settlers will arrive on PC on March 17.

This new iteration is said to be mostly inspired by Blue Byte’s The Settlers 3 and The Settlers 4. They released in 1999 and 2001 respectively, and are considered two of the best entries in the series. The fresh take will see the Elari forced to flee from their homeland to settle on new and unknown lands. Of course, this is where you come in.

You’ll have to guide the people as they build up their new home, face new challenges and meet other factions. There’s three specific factions to play as, each with their own looks and play style. In addition, they also have their own background story and faction-specific military unit. You’ll have to gather resources, build up armies and complete different missions as you lead your people to victory.

For those who can’t wait to try the game, there’ll be a closed beta ahead of launch. Interested parties can sign up now for the beta, which will be available to play between January 20 and January 24. This beta will feature the game’s tutorial and two Skirmish modes: 1v1 and 2v2.

Following that, The Settlers arrives on PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store on March 17. You can check out a trailer for the game down below.
