The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story release date

Riot has now revealed that the release date for The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story will be on April 18, 2023.

This is based on the latest sneak peek that was posted on Riot Forge’s YouTube channel. Aside from the launch window, the clip also featured snippets of gameplay that seems to be a drastic departure from the graphics of the popular MOBA. Check the trailer out for yourself below.

As for formats, so far Riot has said the game will launch on PC and console, but stopped short of saying exactly which consoles that would be.

Here’s the official blurb from Riot Forge: “Developed by Digital Sun, creators of Moonlighter, The Mageseeker is a 2D pixel, gritty action RPG set in Demacia, a mighty kingdom in the world of Runeterra that seeks to curtail what it deems as forbidden magic while wielding magic themselves to maintain order.

Play as Sylas, an escaped mage whose quest for vengeance will shatter Demacia’s deceptive peace – a peace built with the blood and sweat of mages. The Mageseeker provides an action-packed fantasy gameplay experience for those looking to experience a story of power, identity, and justice.”

The game is the latest in a series of League of Legends spinoffs in development at a couple of indie studios, with Riot Forge acting as a publisher and shepherd for its hugely successful series.

In fact, the announcement also came with an update on those other projects – with release windows for both games. Convergence: A League of Legends Story is set for Summer 2023.

Meanwhile Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story by Rime developers Tequila Works is now set for a Fall 2023 release.
