The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has a new trailer, in which Link dives through the skies above Hyrule.
During the Nintendo Direct showcase, Breath of the Wild 2 was shown last, understandably. Nintendo seems to have taken inspiration from Skyward Sword. No wonder that game is coming to Switch next month, in the form of an HD re-release.
Check out the trailer:
The description reads:
“Return to Hyrule—and the skies above—in this first look at gameplay for the Sequel to the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, planned for release on Nintendo Switch in 2022.”
As you can see, the game retains several mechanics from Breath of the Wild. Check out Link on his paraglider, and also not the use of the stasis power. There also seems to be some new powers in the Sheikah Slate—or at least one. Notice what looks like Link moving backwards through time, and through sheer rock.
Elsewhere in the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer, you can see the game’s villain: a skeletal ghoul wreathed in bandages and red smoke. His castle appears to have risen from the ground, and now hangs in the air above Hyrule—Castlevania-style.
Series producer Eiji Aonuma specified, during the presentation, that Breath of the Wild 2 would be released in 2022. Or at least that they were “aiming for 2022.”
